The MNBC Board Needs to Answer Some Key Questions

(September 19, 2026) Métis Nation British Columbia is holding its annual general meeting yesterday and today in Richmond. In advance of the AGM, the organization posted various items of information, including an 18 page financial report which omitted some key items of information. Given that one of the MNBC Board values claims to be “Transparency” the Board’s commitment to that value is questionable when it omits some key expense items.

 

Here are questions about those key items that were left out of the AGM reports that deserve answers from this Board of Directors:

 

1. What is the status of Colette Trudeau – MNBC’s last CEO who appears to have been away since about November 2025? If she is no longer with MNBC, why is she still shown as MNBC’s CEO on the MNBC website?

2. Severance for the former MNBC President Walter Mineault? He was given the boot in April of this year. Did he receive any severance from MNBC, and if so how much?

3. Is Mineault still receiving any benefits (i.e. medical & dental) paid for by MNBC?

4. Why hasn’t the investigator’s report into complaints about Mineault been made public?

Such a report was made public in the past when former MNBC President Clara Morin DalCol was removed in a coup by the Board on trumped up allegations – a majority of the Board members from then are still on the Board today. Why is Mineault being treated differently than she was?

5. Severance pay-outs to staff - What was the total amount of severance paid out by MNBC to former staff last fiscal year?

6.      Legal Fees and Services - What was the total amount paid out in the last fiscal year for legal fees and services, and how does that compare with the previous fiscal year?

7.      How many employees does MNBC currently have, and how does that compare with 2025?

8.      Consultants - What was the total amount paid out in the last fiscal year for consultants?

9.      Board salaries - Did the Board increase their salaries again this year? If so, by how much?

10.  Where is the transparency - Why were the minutes for Board meetings in July and August just posted in the last 24 hours, just before this AGM, instead of weeks ago?

 

Former MNBC President Clara Morin DalCol says, “This AGM is the opportunity for MNBC Citizens to hold this Board accountable because it is the Citizens’ meeting. These are questions that deserve to be answered.”
