BC Métis Leader Pays Tribute to All Veterans for their Service to our Country

ree

(November 11, 2022) BC Métis Leader Clara Morin Dal Col today paid tribute to all Veterans for their commitment and service to our country.

The former President of Métis Nation British Columbia said, “We can never forget the thousands of men and women, indigenous and non-indigenous for their service to our country as members of the Canadian Armed Forces, RCMP, and other Peace Officers. Whether it is fighting for freedom in foreign lands, keeping the peace in different parts of the world, or protecting Canadians here on our home-front, they have stepped forward to serve, and for that we are deeply grateful. We must also never forget those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.”

Ms. Morin Dal Col said, “We also need to remember all Métis people who have proudly served our country beginning with battles in the War of 1812 and in world conflicts since then. Over 5000 Métis Veterans are named on the National Métis Veterans’ Memorial Monument in Batoche, Saskatchewan.”

The BC Métis Leader said, “To all Veterans, thank you for your service and commitment to our country, our values and our freedoms, and to those who continue to serve, we honour you and thank you.”
