MNBC makes bizarre move 3 months after President Morin Dal Col effectively removed from office

(April 20, 2021) In a bizarre move, nearly three months after Métis Nation British Columbia (MNBC) President Clara Morin Dal Col was effectively removed from office by 9 members of the Board of Directors, MNBC has now hired an investigator to look into the allegations against her. The announcement that an investigator has been retained was made by the lawyer for the MNBC and 9 Board members on the second day of the hearing before Mr. Justice Andrew Mayer to determine the legality of President Morin Dal Col’s effective removal from office.

“This latest move against me three months after they removed me from office and after two days of hearings in the BC Supreme Court is difficult to comprehend,” said President Morin Dal Col. “If the nine Board members who voted to effectively remove me as President back on January 18th were so sure of what they were doing, why would they now decide to hire someone to investigate me”, said President Morin Dal Col. She said, “It is an attempt to intimidate me and another move of trying to silence the MNBC Citizens who elected me.”

President Morin Dal Col’s effective removal from office back on January 18th has prevented her from moving forward on her platform and the commitments that she made to the Métis people when she was re-elected for a four-year term just 7 months ago. The President has consistently spoken out in defence of the national definition of Métis and worked to keep MNBC Citizens informed on this critically important issue. Before she was effectively removed from office she pushed for greater transparency, including having all MNBC Board meetings live-streamed but the nine Board Members objected.
