MNBC has communication problem and decides to hire Public Relations Firm for $20,000

(February 9, 2021) Métis Nation British Columbia (MNBC) has a communication problem and they’re turning to a public relations firm to try and help them out of the problem. MNBC is needing help to cope with increased correspondence and media and is going to spend up to $20,000 on a public relations firm over the next two months to help them with communications.

Just four days after purportedly suspending MNBC President Clara Morin Dal Col from her position on the Board, the Board of Directors, including the group of nine, approved the expenditure on January 22, 2021.

President Morin Dal Col calls the $20,000 expense a move to address the communication and image problems that the group of nine directors themselves created for MNBC when they purported to have suspended her as President. She says if even a quarter of the MNBC Citizens who have contacted her by email and phone since the Board’s January 18th action, have contacted the MNBC Office in Surrey, then it is not surprising that they are having communication problems.

President Morin Dal Col calls the $20,000 expense on a PR firm an absolute waste of money that the Board needs to be held accountable for. The President said that if the Board spent more time listening to the Citizens and respecting the democratic process they would not have the communication problem they do.

President Morin Dal Col is taking action in the Supreme Court of British Columbia seeking to have the Court nullify the actions of nine Board Directors which have effectively removed her as President. President Morin Dal Col has maintained that the actions of the group of nine amount to a thinly disguised attempt to overturn the results of MNBC’s election of just four and half months ago, in which she was re-elected by a significant margin and that the group of nine wants to reverse MNBC’s support, under her leadership, for the suspension of Métis Nation of Ontario (MNO) from the MNC for its breach of our Métis Nation citizenship rules.
