(July 27, 2024) The Clara Morin Dal Col Team will initiate a full review and disclosure of the state of MNBC Finances beginning in the first 30 days of being sworn into office.
Clara Morin Dal Col, who is running for President in the upcoming MNBC general election in September said, “We are committed to shining a light on every aspect of MNBC finances and disclosing the results to MNBC Citizens. The lack of transparency by the current Board will come to an end.”
This critical task will review all aspects of current and future government funding for MNBC and will carefully scrutinize financial decisions made by the current Board, including all decisions made in camera regarding the expenditures of those dollars. The review will include an assessment of all expenditures made in all operational areas, including commitments made going forward. The review will include (but not be limited to) looking at all contracts, consultant costs, legal costs, vehicle purchases, travel expenses and project commitments of any type made by this current Board.
Ms. Morin Dal Col said, “This review is essential to know where MNBC stands financially today and going forward because a new federal government may not be so generous in funding Métis and other Indigenous organizations following the next federal election. The results of the review will be made available to MNBC Citizens.”
She added that the findings of the initial review may require a more detailed financial analysis, including an audit of certain aspects of operations.
Ms. Morin Dal Col, as the candidate for MNBC President said, “Our Team members are committed to putting the needs of our Métis people first. As members of a new Board of Directors our Team knows that to meet the needs of our Métis people going forward, our finances have to be in solid shape and as a result they are committed to fiscal responsibility, accountability and transparency. We respectfully ask for your support to elect members of the Clara Morin Dal Col Team in the upcoming election.”
